What is Eyton Burrow?
Eyton Burrow is an outdoor, nature-based learning provision for home-educated and flexi-schooled children.
Drop off sessions take place across the farming year at Upper Eyton Farm, where curiosity, practical skills and meaningful experiences come first.
Each 5.5 hour session is shaped by the changing seasons, the rhythms of the land, and the children's own interests.
Whether surveying wildlife and habitats, exploring soil and trees, building and crafting, or caring for chickens and worms, children develop independence, confidence and knowledge through real-life experiences on the farm. All of which connect naturally with the wider curriculum.
Shared storytelling, mindful movement and wholesome food are woven into each season's theme, creating a warm, welcoming community where children feel known, valued and inspired to build a lifelong relationship with the natural world.

A Day at Eyton Burrow
09:30 — Open the Circle We gather, settle in and share a story. The fire is stoked and the day's themes, words and activities take shape together.
10:00 — Into the Land Group activities and project work linked to the season, the farm and the wider curriculum. Every child finds their way into the work.
12:00 — Lunchtime Packed lunches from home alongside a wholesome, group-made snack using fresh seasonal ingredients. Shared together, always.
12:45 — Farm Walk & Forest School Creativity, bushcraft projects and space to be in the land.
14:30 — Close the Circle A shared story weaves the day's learning back together. Reflections shared and roots traced.
15:00— End of Day Children head home carrying the day with them.

Meet Rachel and Emma
Two nature-loving humans who care deeply about how children learn.
Having journeyed far to reach the launch of Eyton Burrow, we are so excited to be working on the farm with children and families looking for a different way.
Rachel is a qualified English teacher and part owner of Upper Eyton Farm. Also trained in Educational Access to Farms, Social & Therapeutic Horticulture, SEND intervention and Philosophy for Children.
Emma is an experienced occupational therapist trained in counselling and psychotherapy. Also a qualified yoga and qigong teacher passionate about movement, overall wellbeing and holistic therapies.
Frank Sonnenberg once said,
“We teach children to colour inside the lines, then expect adults to think outside the box”.
At Eyton Burrow, we strongly believe in children having time and space to colour outside the lines and be their authentic selves.
